Project 4

A) Decision log:
For the start of this task and all the decisions made for the story the mockups were done by Simon as I was ill so Simon my partner had to create the story and other parts to the team project these include the Story, mockups, sketches, film name, film genre, poster trope.
However I will do the organise plot in detail.
Me and Simon also done the pair work for the posters we like and the posters we don't like.
Simon will do three posters he like's and 1 poster he doesn't like and I will do 2 I likes and 2 I don't like. These posters have to fit at least one the genre and the poster trope.
I will do the colour scheme for our partner work. I will also make the props and key elements  as i will have to do the location for our poster trope.

Our story for project 4 poster

Title is Trust or trust the slavs
The genre is Thriller

The beginning would be a flashback at the end of the story so the viewers would know what happened but they wouldn't know that is the end of the film.

Then we would learn about these two slavs trying to earn their trust with other slav gang but they are actually in another one trying to get some inside information.

So after the flashback would end we would see them getting told to befriend and earn their trust with the other gang.

Throughout the beginning the two slavs would learn the ways of the other gang then they would be friend one of the best working slav gang from the other gang. He then takes them to the boss who then gets persuaded to give them a mission. The boss is hesitant to do it though.

The middle would be the boss and everyone getting comfortable around the two slavs. But they would still be prosecuted for the things they do. However there would also be conflict where the two slavs nearly blow their cover by saying some of their plans. But they manage to persuade them that they were just planing how to execute their other missions.
The two slavs also report back to their boss saying what they have done. They tell him that they still don't get their info as they are still not trusted , but they are very close to getting trusted. This makes their boss angry as he accepted them to do better.

The end of the film would be them getting friendly and becoming something like family to them. They would learn that the gang the two slavs serve are the bad guys. So they change sides. They tell the boss the plans of the other gang. their current boss is shocked about this and he started screaming at everyone that he knew these people were bad. However he then realises he can recruit them and tell their previous boss lies and then they would attack them once the two slavs are in their previous home base. while they hide they clear them up and the two slavs are now highly respected. However at the end of it all the two slavs invite everyone for some drinks. They cheerfully accept the offer. Little did they know the drinks were poisoned.  And this is how they cleared the two biggest slav bosses. Now they were free to do what they wanted. They weren't bossed around anymore.

The viewers then realise that the flashback at the beginning was the scene before their previous boss got attacked at their old base. So the viewers thought they knew what happened but all along the only people who knew the real ending were the two slavs. The film would then cut to cutscenes of them planing what to do at night when they weren't bossed around.

Sketches:

Fonts:
I have chosen these fonts because it gives it that thriller/ slavic feeling towards slavs. The title makes it slavic because of the way the font has been designed.

Mock up:

Costume and props:
For the props, me and Simon will be wearing an ushanka, sun glasses, adidas shoes and a balaclava.

Colour scheme:

Feedback:
The locations of the sketches are apparently unrealistic according to one of the peers since they doubt I could've gotten them pictures.
What I''ll attempt to change is getting a picture of the snow when I go on holiday to give that slavic atmosphere.

Version 2 for finished poster:

Feedback:
According to one of the peers, they said that for the posters of version 1  has a basic font for the tag line. Version 1 is also missing social media logos and hashtags.
What I'll do is i'll add the missing social media logos and hashtag. For the tag line I personally think keeping it slightly basic keeps it neat.
(Version 2 poster is the up to date poster)
J)
On my first draft of the poster it is clear how much detail I've added towards my finished posters. I've developed extra detail over time to Version 1 and Version 2 of the posters. The draft on the other hand is still shown on both versions of the poster however with allot of edited time taken to perfect it as much as possible to make it eye pealing towards the viewers.

K)
What makes your poster standout?
I personally think the characters, title and background makes the poster stand out allot which will help to draw in attention to viewers. This will also help the viewers what type of theme this film will be. However, the title could of been a bit brighter but it shouldn't really affect the viewers attention. The characters outfit helps to show what kind of weather conditions it is there. The background is a nice view shot of the mountains in Slovakia (a slavic country) which links in well with this film.

What are some elements you want to improve on?
The character on the left(Simon) should have worn his ushanka and balaclava but he forgot to bring them. I would also say the tag line font could have been better because it does look a little basic now I look back at it but its readable I guess.

What changes to your workflow could you make in future projects to improve your costume?
For future projects I should get stuff done before the deadline rather getting it all done on the deadline. Reasons for this however was mainly me being ill for a couple days which led my partner to do most of the work at the start of the project but we both managed to catch up the work.

How did you improve your photoshop skills?
Ive improved my photoshop skills slightly by using variations of text styles to make it look 3D as well as using fades to images to help the images to blend nicely.

Feedback from teacher:
Remove the ushanka from the title.
Brighten up the title and tag line.
Re type the word "Cinema's" too "Cinemas".
Everything else is very nicely done especially the extra detail on the poster.
